Adolf Hitlers Military Headquarters WWII

Apart from the main Supreme Headquarters that was used by Hitler during the war, there were several other headquarters that were not used or never got past the planning stage. Throughout the war, approximately twenty headquarters were completed for Hitler's use in directing his military campaigns on both the Western and Eastern Fronts. By 1945 there were numerous projects and suitable sites being planned, just in case Hitler decided to leave Berlin at the last moment. Although the headquarters moved throughout the war to Hitler's mountain retreat at the Berghof, Berchtesgaden, it was not technically regarded as a field headquarters. The Reich Chancellery too was also not technically a field headquarters, but as it was the location of the famous Führerbunker—the last in a list of command posts used by Hitler. Buried beneath the Reich Chancellery in Berlin, this was home to FHQu from March to 30 April 1945. Hitler set up his last command post to direct operations before committing suicide.
